The Northeastern Federation is comprised of 13 of the 50 United States & all of Canada: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador.

2025-26 NENA FEDERATION BOARD NOMINATIONS

Dear NENA Colleagues,

If you are interested in becoming more engaged and making a difference in hospitality and tourism education, you should run for a NENA Board position! We need amazing colleagues like you to help us advance the NENA Federation Mission of supporting and providing value for our NENA CHRIE Membership. The NENA Federation Nominating Committee is looking for the following positions which will commence 1 July 2025:

Vice President (currently have 1 candidate)

Eligibility for Vice President: To be eligible for the office of NENA Vice President, a member shall have been an ICHRIE member for two years and NENA member for one year and must supply a letter of support from their academic institution or business stating commitment for the three years of service.

Secretary (currently have no candidates- please consider this position)

Eligibility for Secretary: To be eligible for the office of NENA Treasurer, a member shall have been an ICHRIE member for two years and a NENA member for one year and must supply a letter of support from their academic institution or business stating commitment for the two years of service.

Director of Research (currently have 1 candidate)

Eligibility for Director of Research: To be eligible for the office of Director of Research, a member shall have been an ICHRIE member, have a record that demonstrates experience with publications, research grants, or industry research; and must supply a letter of support from their academic institution or business stating commitment for the two years of service.

Director of Membership and Marketing (currently have 1 candidate)

Eligibility for Director of Membership and Marketing: To be eligible for the office of Director of Membership and Marketing, a member shall have been an ICHRIE member, have a record that demonstrates experience with publications, research grants, or industry research; and must supply a letter of support from their academic institution or business stating commitment for the two years of service.

Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings (virtual) and the three general NENA Federation Meetings (Summer during the ICHRIE conference, Fall (can be in person or virtual), and Spring during the NENA Conference). More information about all positions can be found in the NENA Bylaws.

Candidates should email Dr. Tracy Michaud, Immediate Past President, and NENA Nominations Committee Chair at [email protected] with their intention to be placed on the ballot, stating which position, and must also include a letter of institutional support from their supervisor (Chair, Director, Dean, etc.). If one member wishes to nominate another member, please check with the member first to ensure they are interested and then they can send the interest email and letter of support directly to me. Should anyone have any questions regarding these positions or would like to discuss responsibilities further, please email and we can set up a time to talk.

The Deadline for submittal of nominations is Friday, December 13, 2024.

NENA FEDERATION SPRING CONFERENCE RFP

Dear NENA Members:

I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying your last weeks of summer. It was wonderful to see a lot of you in Montreal at our NENA Federation Meeting.

As we look ahead to our future annual NENA spring conferences, we are excited to open the Request for Proposals (RFP) process for hosting our 2026, 2027, and 2028 events.

We invite you to submit a proposal if your university is interested in hosting one of the years. As we mentioned in the NENA Federation meeting, this could be a great opportunity for a university and their community college partner to collaborate and co-host. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your city and your school while playing a pivotal role in shaping our members' professional development and the direction of our regional conferences.

Please submit your proposals by January 1, 2025. We will review all submissions and notify the selected host by March 15, 2025. Our desired goal is to announce and have the host university promote their school and location at the NENA Spring Conference at Stockton University.
